Highlights from the BSBF2026 visit to CERN on 27 October 2025

European companies explore Big Science at CERN
On 27 October 2025, European companies active in the Big Science domain joined BSBF2026 for an exclusive visit to CERN in Geneva. The tour offered a rare glimpse behind the scenes of one of the world’s most iconic research centres, where fundamental science meets industrial innovation.

Participants explored the Synchrocyclotron, the Data Centre, the Antimatter Factory and the Low Energy Ion Ring gaining first-hand insight into CERN’s technologies and collaboration opportunities ahead of BSBF2026.

“Our visit to CERN gave us new insights into how we can further improve the production of ultra-high-vacuum pipelines,” said Jan Lamkin, entrepreneur at SBE Piping and Machinery in Eijsden (Netherlands). “Seeing how CERN approaches pilot projects and efficiency inspired us to refine our own processes and confirmed we’re on the right track.”

Next visit: GSI FAIR, Darmstadt  on 21 November 2025. Discover another world-class facility and connect with experts.
