Call for host of BSBF2028
With the fourth edition of the Big Science Business Forum in preparation, it is time to look ahead to the host of BSBF2028. This is your opportunity to bring European Big Science organisations together with industry in your region and position it at the heart of this unique ecosystem.
The call is now open and the documentation is available. An informative online session can be organised for interested candidates who would like to learn more about the requirements and process.
Timeline
- December 15th 2026: the call is published.
- February 2026: an introduction webinar to the BSBF2028 host call.
- May 4th 2026: the call is closed.
- June 10th 2026: interviews with the BSBF IOC - International Organising Committee.
- Before the end of June 2026: BSBF2026 will communicate the results to the bidders.
- October 29th 2026: passing of the torch ceremony during the closing session of
BSBF2026 in Maastricht.
Call for Associated Big Science Organisations to join BSBF2026
Join the group of BSBF2026 Affiliated Big Science Organisations (ABSOs) to connect with representatives of European industry and present your procurement plans in the dedicated technical parallel sessions. As an ABSO, you can share your upcoming needs, raise awareness about your facility and engage directly with potential suppliers.
The call is now open and the documentation is available. Interested organisations are invited to consult the documentation and contact the organising team for further information.
Timeline
- December 2025: the ABSO call will be launched with a deadline of 27 February 2026
- March 2026: the expressions of interest will be evaluated
- April 2026: the IOC will approve the list of participating ABSOs
- April 2026: the ABSOs will be informed by the organisation
Call for ILOs to propose companies to participate in the SME-track
SMEs are the backbone of the European economy, offering innovation, flexibility, and specialized expertise. While they are well-suited to meet the complex technological needs of Big Science projects, financial and administrative barriers often make access difficult.
The BSBF2026 SME-Track gives SMEs a unique opportunity to connect with Big Science organisations, showcase their capabilities, and explore high-tech procurement opportunities. We invite Industrial Liaison Officers (ILOs) to propose companies that could benefit from this high-profile engagement.
Timeline
- 21 January 2026: BSBF2026 & PERIIA launch the SME-call
- 31 March 2026: deadline for submission by the EU ILOs, who can nominate a maximum
of 4 candidates per country. - April – May 2026: the PERIIA Board will evaluate and inform the IOC
- June 2026: the IOC will approve the final list of participating SMEs in the SME-Track
- June 2026: PERIIA will inform all the ILOs and the selected SMEs will be informed by
their corresponding ILOs
Call for ILOs to propose companies to participate in the AI & ML-track
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are transforming industries—and Big Science is no exception. We invite European companies and organisations with experience in AI/ML in technical domains relevant to Big Science to submit an abstract.
Selected participants will have the opportunity to present their work in a dedicated technical session, fostering discussion and collaboration with Big Science representatives in this fast-evolving field.
Timeline
- 2 February 2026: BSBF2026 & PERIIA launch the AI-track.
- 1 May 2026: deadline for submission by the EU ILOs, who can nominate a maximum of
2 candidates per country. - May - June 2026: the PERIIA Board will evaluate and inform the IOC.
- July 2026: the IOC will approve the final list of participating companies & organisations in
the AI-track. - July 2026: PERIIA will inform all the ILOs and the selected companies & organisations
will be informed by their corresponding ILOs.
